Hopedale Pond in the Early Twentieth Century

There were quite a few boathouses on the Hopedale Street side of
Hopedale Pond a century ago. There were others on the Lake Street side,
and some of those survivied into the 1950s. In the top picture, the building
on the left is Henry Patrick's icehouse. It can be seen in the second picture
also, but not as well. It was about where the bathhouse is now. The top
picture also shows several boathouses and the shadow of the trolley bridge.
