The picture at the top was taken at the time of the first field day in Hopedale, 1901. The date of the second is unknown. It's looks like it could also be from the first year. Note the large icehouse in the background in the third picture. A tug-of-war is taking place in he fourh picture. The houses in the background, all still standing, are near the intersection of Freedom Street and Prospect Street. The building in the background in the bottom photo is the Roper factory on Northrop Street. |
