    In the last paragraph, Hopper mentions that the crossing at Route 16 was covered
    with blacktop. Actually the tracks at the crossing were removed. The Hopedale
    Housing Authority had been having trouble for years with their sewage pump at the
    Griffin-Dennett Apartments, and found that sewage would flow by gravity if they
    could pipe it out from behind the apartments and cross Route 16 at the track
    crossing. As the items from their minutes below show, they paid the G&U Railroad
    $10,000 to be allowed to do this. The railroad could have used the money to
    replace the track, but evidently had so little business going that way that they
    chose not to do it.
