occupied by Hopedale Junior/Senior High School. The land was donated to the town to be used for a school, by the general's daughter, Princess Margaret Preston Draper Boncompagni. The school was originally named the General Draper High School. The second and third pictures from the bottom show the school in the fall of 2007, after the cupola had been removed because of a leak. The bottom photo was taken from the Unitarian Church steeple in 2010. Click on the picture for more views of the center of town taken from the steeple. The newspaper articles were copied from the scrapbooks at the Bancroft Library. Now and Then Menu Donation of Estate School History General Draper Library Draper Menu HOME |
