The old foundry was used even after the West Foundry opened.

    Above and below - making molds for relatively small castings.
    Sand for the molds would come down through the chutes.

    Making molds for large castings, such as loom sides. The
    man on the upper right could rotate the machine he is on
    which would provide sand for different workers in the area.

Part of the old foundry.

    Materials used in the foundry, including brick
    to line the furnaces, limestone and scrap iron.

    "Roto-clone" machines for cleaning
    castings by sand or glass peening.
