The Parklands, 1913

    In addition to what is shown here, more land was purchased, west of The Lookout, in
    1916.

    Warren Henry Manning worked with Frederick Law Olmstead for nine years. After
    establishing his own firm, he did a large number of landscaping projects throughout
    the country. In Hopedale, he designed the Parklands and also the yards of a number
    of the mansions.

    In addition to the Parklands, the Town Park, ("Playground") also of Manning's
    design, is at the lower left of the map.
