The Parklands, 1913 Map by landscape architect, Warren Henry Manning
large enough so that the small print on the original map is easy to read. In addition to what is shown here, more land was purchased, west of The Lookout, in 1916. Warren Henry Manning worked with Frederick Law Olmstead for nine years. After establishing his own firm, he did a large number of landscaping projects throughout the country. In Hopedale, he designed the Parklands and also the yards of a number of the mansions. In addition to the Parklands, the Town Park, ("Playground") also of Manning's design, is at the lower left of the map. 1899 Parklands Map Sports, Park and Pond Menu Map Menu HOME . |
