In this view, Hopedale Street is in the foreground. Social and Union
    streets, at that time, crossed Hopedale Street and continued through the
    area that later was covered by more shops. The first main office can be
    seen in the middle of the drawing. There's just a hint of Hopedale Pond
    on the right, and the lower pond can be seen in the middle.
