Dan. It took me a minute but Mr. Recchiutto in 1950s. I remember him in a cream and pastel convertible with top down stopping at my grandparents on a Sunday. (Prospect Heights) They said he was the man with a car who used to pick up all the immigrants at Ellis Island in NY after they cleared and drove them to Milford !! Winogene was the “Hopedale history person” for much of the mid-20th century. She wrote and tape recorded her memories of the town during her life. She photographed places and events in town. She took “home movies,” including one of Chet Sanborn going to Memorial School to tap the maples, and movies of swimming at Hopedale Pond. Click here to read about Winogene.

This is a dryer that I use to dry apples and pears that I get from trees in my yard. It works very well on sunny days. I’ve also made a lot of pear and applesauce (now in the freezer) and apple pies. I also have an Asian pear tree, and that’s doing very well this year. I’ll be picking the pears from it soon.

Deer in Parklands – August 30. I came across it when going into the Parklands from the Dutcher Street entrance. It gave me time to take my phone out of my pocket, bring up the camera and take a few pictures before stepping into the brush and stopping to look back.
