Ballou, Draper and Bancroft Tombs
and Stones at
Hopedale Village Cemetery

Thanks to cemetery superintendent, John Foley, for his assistance with this page. Thanks also to Betty Butcher for her help, including sending the map.

Most of the families had children other than those listed here. The names above are only those who are buried in or near the tombs.

In addition to Ebenezer Draper, one of the principal members of the Hopedale Community, there are three Eben Sumner Drapers buried in Hopedale Village Cemetery. One is the governor and another was his son. The third was the son of Bristow and Queena Draper. Evidently at birth he was named Eben Sumner Draper, but at some point in his life he dropped his middle name. Perhaps to avoid confusion. I hope it helped.
