The early history of the Hopedale Town Park above appears to be correct for the most part. However, there are a couple of mistakes. Booklets put out for each field day make it clear that the first one was in 1901. Also, there were tennis courts and a baseball field “By 1914…” but that’s a bit misleading because both were there well before that year. A picture on this page shows two tennis courts and two diamonds in 1905.
