Venetian Tide - Ray Andreotti - 2003

Joanne S (Lemon) Andreotti, 83 of Hopedale joined her beloved husband Raymond in eternal life and love on January 25, 2024. Born on February 14, 1940, to the late George and Grace (Bowker) Lemon of Hopedale, she was a lifelong resident of this close-knit community. Joanne took immense pride in growing up and, later, in raising her family and spending time with friends in the heart of Hopedale.

Joanne’s journey in life began when she met her lifelong partner Ray while working at a small shop in Milford. Subsequently, she served as a secretary at Natick Laboratories. Following this period, she dedicated herself to raising her family. Later, she resumed her professional career, contributing her skills to various secretarial positions at Hopedale High School. Joanne found great fulfillment in assisting students with their life choices in the guidance and principal’s office and all while keeping a watchful eye on her own children and their friends.

Actively involved in the community, Joanne was a member of the Women’s Club, CCD teacher, and a founding member of the Hopedale Cultural Council. She volunteered for several years at Hopedale Town Hall, Election Polls, and wherever her help was needed.

Her true dedication, however, lay in her 59-year marriage to her late husband, Ray who she lost in December. Theirs was a true love story, a bond that transcended the ordinary. Joanne not only supported her husband with his art passion but also served as his most insightful critic. Their shared love for artistic expression became the cornerstone of their relationship, creating a unique and enduring connection.

Joanne found joy in the simple pleasures of life, loving Italian cooking, sewing, and spending time in nature and her garden. She had a special fondness for birds and always had a wonderful story to tell, especially about the squirrels.

Joanne is survived by her son R. Michael Andreotti and his wife Alaina of Brunswick, ME, Gina M Kovach and her husband Steve of Brewster, and her beloved grandchildren Steven, Leah, and Evan Andreotti, and Jared, Kelsey, Ellie Kovach. She also leaves behind two brothers, Peter Lemon of Maine and Tom Lemon of New Hampshire.
