Spotted touch-me-not, also called jewelweed, the amazing plant with coil-spring
propelled seeds.  Walk through a patch of it in September and you'll feel some of them as
they hit you.  Take a close look and you can find the spring.  The little area I clear to plant
a few vegetables produces a better crop of touch-me-not than tomatoes if I don't keep it
weeded.  They're very shallow-rooted and easy to pull up, though. The pictures were
taken at the back of my yard on Inman Street. It's common in many overgrowing areas.
