In 2006, while using his metal detector on the block where the Chapel Street School once stood, Tom Ragonese came across the button shown above. He was able to identify it as coming from the uniform of a Union Army staff officer. Click on it to see more, including, possibly, the identity of the officer.

Inman Street
This is Tom Sager, who has volunteered to do the much needed painting of fire hydrants. The one in the picture, at the corner of Tammie and Inman, is the 138th one he’s done.
This had quite a response on the Hopedale Bulletin Board page on Facebook. Four-hundred likes and 91 comments by the end of the evening. By the next afternoon the number was 533 likes.
